Hi everyone!

Hope you’ve gotten some much deserved rest after the November and Georgia elections. And a big thanks to everyone who helped work on the GA elections- we all owe you a debt of gratitude!

We have some exciting new features coming out, and wanted to be sure you saw them. Also, be sure to check out the new website if you haven’t already!

We will be deploying this update over the next three days.

New features:

Automatic Opt Outs: Ever wish you didn’t have to select the opt out button every time someone said “stop” or “unsubscribe”? The Automatic Opt Out setting works like a filter on incoming messages to remove and automatically opt out contacts that send a message containing a number of key words and phrases. If you choose to use the feature, your texters will also no longer see those conversations, which allows them to handle valid responses quicker.

Custom campaign tags: You now have the freedom to select specific tags on a per campaign basis, instead of being forced to display all tags in each campaign.

Tags that sync to VAN: You are now able to connect your tags to survey responses, activist codes, and canvass results in VAN, for added flexibility! This is, of course, in addition to Spoke scripts connecting to VAN.

Opt outs sync to VAN: Your opt outs will now sync back to VAN as “Do Not Text” so long as the campaign is connected to VAN.

Search by name or number: Message review now allows you to search by a contact’s name or phone number.

Inbound MMS: You now have the option of allowing your texters to receive and see inbound picture messages. If you turn this feature on, texters have to click on the image, and are provided with two “are you sure you want to view?” warnings before actually viewing the image.

Credits: Large organizations with chapters can now control how much their groups text with our new credits system. This system allows the account owner to allot and cap a number of texts their groups or chapters can send. Once a Spoke team has used up their allotted segments, they are prevented from sending additional texts.

This feature also works well for campaigns or organizations that simply want to enforce spending limits.

Fixes:

Opt out page: Some larger accounts may have noticed that if you collected a large number of opt outs, the opt out page would become inaccessible. This has now fixed, and the page will display the total number of each opt out type, without displaying each individual phone number.

Overlap management: Fixed an issue that caused “last messaged” to be triggered if a campaign received a text (thank you, Katie!), and an issue that occasionally caused contact deletion to fail (thank you, John!).

Coming soon:

VAN events: We are nearly finished with our VAN events integration, and you will soon be able to easily recruit for VAN events and sync that data back to VAN.

Follow up campaigns: Targeting individuals in new campaigns who responded a certain way in a previous campaign.

Reassignment prevention: Add reassignment protection to specific tags for sensitive conversations that should not be easily reassigned.

A new tool: We are extremely excited to be adding additional tools to the Scale to Win toolsuite, so please keep an eye out for an announcement soon!

That’s it for now. Take good care, and please reach out for any future texting needs.
