Toll-Free Texting
We’re pleased to announce that texting with toll-free numbers is now available to all of our customers on Spoke at no extra cost. We’ve seen great deliverability and engagement on toll-free numbers, so we’re excited to hear what you think! As always, feel free to reply to this email with any questions.
Why are we making toll-free texting available?
Starting on October 1st, mobile carriers (T-Mobile & AT&T) will roll out 10DLC, a new set of regulations for peer-to-peer texting. 10DLC will allow the carriers to track the origin of each message sent. As 10DLC continues to evolve, we want to ensure our customers have every messaging strategy available to them so you can always get your messages out.
As of today, we’re making toll-free texting available to all our customers at no extra cost. Toll-free numbers commonly have an 833, 844, 855, or 866 area code, but otherwise look identical to the 10- digit phone numbers used for peer-to-peer texting. In our experience, using toll-free numbers can improve deliverability, especially for texts with links in the initial message!* You can read more about how and when to text with toll-free numbers here.
Thanks for reading this far! Let us know what you think about toll-free texting by replying to this email. Appreciate all that you do!
*Deliverability is never guaranteed, and is always subject to change. Mobile carriers don’t always communicate what traffic they will and won’t allow, and filtering on toll-free, although rare, is technically still possible.
