Welcome to the Scale to Win Dialer! This set of instructional guides for the administrators of dialer organizations explains the step-by-step process for how to set up and manage call campaigns.
Note: if you are a caller, not a dialer administrator, please instead check out Scale to Win’s instructional guides for callers.
We’ll go over the following ten foundational steps in detail:
Creating Call Campaigns
Step 2: Set Up an NGP VAN Integration (if desired)
Step 3: Write Your Questions (i.e., the call script)
Step 4: Add Contacts (i.e., upload your list)
Step 5: Caller Interface (if desired)
Step 7: Leave Voicemail (if desired)

Step 1: Create a New Call Campaign
A Call Campaign
A “call campaign” is a set of phone calls that your campaign or organization makes to a specific group of voters or contacts (whose phone numbers you have), for a specific purpose. In other words, it’s a distinct pairing of a call script and a list of contacts you wish to call.
For instance, your campaign might want to call a group of 40,000 registered Democrats in a certain district of your state who voted in the last two elections, to see if they have heard of your candidate and to gauge their level of support. Or, your organization might choose to call a list of volunteers who have previously attended one of your events, to recruit them to host their own event during your upcoming day of action.
And with the Scale to Win Dialer, you can run as many call campaigns as you’d like simultaneously!
Log In To Your Account
To create a new call campaign, first log in to your dialer organization as an administrator.
Create a New Campaign
Once logged in, from the home screen of your admin dashboard, click the “Campaigns” menu option on the left-hand side of your screen. Then click the “+ New Campaign” button, as seen below, to start creating a call campaign.
The home screen of the dialer admin dashboard, with the ‘+ New Campaign’ button.
Or, Clone an Existing Campaign
If you have an existing call campaign that you or another admin of your dialer organization previously created that you want to make a copy of, you can click the ‘copy’ button next to the campaign you’d like to clone.
The ‘copy campaign’ button on the Campaigns page of the dialer admin dashboard.
This will copy the campaign name, description, questions (i.e., call script), caller sidebar, and caller ID into the new call campaign. If you previously set up an NGP VAN integration for your dialer organization (see our guide to setting up your NGP VAN integration), the copy button will also copy the details and mapping behavior of your integration into the new campaign. The cloned campaign will not contain the contact list from your previous campaign. You'll need to upload a new contact list to this new campaign.
Add a Campaign Name & Description
The first step of creating your call campaign is to name it and add a short description. The name of the campaign will be visible to dialer administrators and callers. The description will only be visible to administrators.
The first step of creating a new campaign is to add a Name and Description.
For callers, the name of the call campaign will show up in the upper right-hand corner of their screen while they are calling:
An example of where a caller will see the name of your campaign when making calls.
We recommend using the name and/or description fields to clearly describe the call campaign’s purpose, so that you can easily identify it later. For example, you might use descriptors such as, “volunteer recruitment calls to April donors,” “support ID calls to District 1 voters,” or “Aug 1st voter registration calls to Hillcrest High School seniors.”
Especially if your campaign or organization plans to make calls on the dialer multiple times per week, you may wish to include the date in your call campaign’s name, to make it easy for you and your fellow dialer admins to remember which campaign corresponds to a given day’s calling.
