Two-factor authentication is a security feature that defends your account. In addition to your email and password, you'll need to provide a second form of identification - a one-time code or security key - to access your account. This added layer of security offers powerful protection against digital attacks.

Scale to Win already requires two-factor authentication for Dialer admins and supports two-factor authentication for Spoke accounts as well.

QUICK LINKS

How do I enable two-factor authentication for my Spoke organization?

For the greatest protection, we strongly recommend requiring two-factor authentication for users on your Spoke account. To enable mandatory two-factor authentication for your Spoke organization, please fill out this form.

Note: Once two-factor authentication is turned on for your Spoke account, all users, whether texters or admins, will be required to set up two-factor authentication.

How do I set up two-factor authentication?

After two-factor authentication has been enabled for your organization, you’ll be prompted to set it up when signing up or logging into your account.

Step 1: Sign up for an account, or log in to your account

If you already have a Spoke account, simply enter your email and password login and skip ahead to step 2.

New users will start by clicking a join link specific to your Spoke organization, which admins can always access by clicking the plus sign on the “People” page. After clicking the link, the first step is to fill out the sign up form.

Fill out the sign up form to get started.

Step 2: Select a two-factor authentication method

Next, you’ll enroll in two-factor authentication by choosing the method you’ll use to generate your second form of identification when logging in. To use a security key, select “security key”. Otherwise, you can choose to get one-time codes from an app like Google Authenticator, or via SMS text.

Select your two-factor authentication method from the menu.

Google Authenticator/App Set-Up

Download an authenticator app

If you pick Google Authenticator or similar, you will need an authenticator app on your phone like Google Authenticator or Authy. This option offers greater security than SMS, and is recommended for administrators without access to a security key (the best protection).

Scan the QR code shown using your authenticator app

Open your authenticator app and select the option to scan a QR code. Use your phone to scan the QR code shown on the sign up page.

Scan the QR code into the authenticator app, then enter the code generated by the app into Scale to Win.

Enter the six-digit code

After scanning the QR code, you’ll receive a six-digit code that you can enter back into Scale to Win. Enter the code without spaces into the field, then hit “Continue”.

Going forward

Every time you’re prompted to use two-factor when logging in, you’ll need to go back to the app and get a code. Codes are short-lived, and will regenerate every couple of moments, so you’ll never enter the same code twice.

SMS Set-Up

Texters may find it easier to use SMS to receive two-factor codes. In this case, select “SMS” as the two-factor method.

Enter your phone number

Next, you will be prompted to enter your phone number. After hitting “Continue” you should receive a text message with a six-digit code.

Enter your phone number to receive a text with a six-digit one-time code.

Enter the six-digit code

After you receive the six-digit code, simply enter it - just the digits, no space - into Scale to Win, then hit “Continue”.

Enter your PIN code to provide your second method of authentication.

Going forward

Every time you’re prompted to login with two-factor, you should receive an SMS text with a new code.

Save your recovery code

The first time you set up two-factor, you will also be prompted to save a recovery code. Save the code in a secure location such as a password manager like 1Password or Lastpass.

If you lose access to your phone (i.e. you buy a new one, or lose it), you can use this code instead of a six-digit code to regain access to your account.
