Generating Additional Tokens

Campaign Verify tokens are single-use. If your token was previously used with another vendor, generate a new one by enrolling in multi-factor authentication (MFA).

 1. Log in to your Campaign Verify account, click on your name in the upper right corner and select Enroll in MFA.

 



2. Click the orange Enroll in Multifactor Authentication button in your email invitation.

3. Scan the QR code using an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy. The app will generate a passcode to enter into the Campaign Verify screen.



4. In your account, click the campaign needing the additional token and select The Campaign Registry as the service.

 



5. Click the green Create An Authorization Token button and copy your new token.

6. Navigate to your Scale to Win Text account’s Phone Numbers page.

7. Click the Register for 10DLC button. Paste your new token into the 10DLC registration form. Note: This article details how to submit your Campaign Verify token to Scale to Win.

What does 10DLC registration do?

Registration has been required since March 1st, 2022 by the mobile carriers (like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon). The stated aim is to allow the carriers to verify the identities of groups sending texts and mitigate spam.

What does 10DLC cost?

Political organizations must pay a $95 vetting fee to Campaign Verify in order to generate a verification token that unlocks high-volume texting. Scale to Win is covering all other 10DLC fees, backdated to April 1st, 2022.


Can I text if I'm not registered for 10DLC?

You can register for toll-free phone numbers instead, which requires going through a separate registration process. Here's how to text with toll-free numbers in Scale to Win.

What if I can’t register for 10DLC?

If you’re a group unable to get an EIN, a non-profit without a letter of determination or 8976 form from the IRS, are a political organization experiencing blockers with Campaign Verify, or otherwise cannot register for 10DLC, Scale to Win will work with you on a case-by-case basis. Submit a ticket to our Client Support team or book a call with us here.


What are the requirements for Campaign Verify?
You will need an EIN and a public filing to complete the verification process. 

EIN: Getting an EIN is quick and easy. You can quickly apply for one here.

Public Filing: Your campaign / committee must be registered with either the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) or a State, Local, or Tribal election authority.

  • Federal Campaigns: Provide a link to your FEC filing record from fec.gov/data.

  • State, Local, or Tribal Campaigns: Provide a link to your filing record from the relevant election authority’s website. This is typically found on the Secretary of State’s website or the county/municipal government’s website. 

Note: Campaign Verify accepts various current online filings directly from election authorities, including campaign finance forms, organizational reports, election/committee listings, and other election authority documentation. These must show the entity is active and provide a campaign postal address, email, or phone. The Campaign Verify form must match the most recent public filing. Missing, redacted, or inaccessible contact information requires contacting Campaign Verify support at support@campaignverify.org.


What if I can’t find my filing record or it isn’t online?

  1.  Click here to book a time to chat with our Registration Ops team or submit a ticket to our Client Support team 
  2. Campaign Verify accepts filings emailed directly from your election authority, but you must email them your election authority contact information to start this process.

What if my organization is not registered with an election authority?
You can use a published IRS filing instead:

  1. Submit a State verification request.

  2. Enter https://forms.irs.gov in the Filing Record URL field.

  3. Provide the campaign’s EIN in the EIN/TIN field.


When can I expect to receive my token?
The timeline depends on many variables:

  • If an email address or cell phone number is listed on the filing record, the PIN code will be immediately emailed or texted
  •  If a landline is listed and you elect to receive your PIN via a phone call, Campaign Verify will call with your PIN code within one business day
  • If your filing record only lists a postal address, the PIN code will be sent by USPS and take approximately 5-10 days to arrive, notwithstanding unforeseen USPS delays
  • If your Filing Record URL does not list an email address, a phone number, or a postal mail address, please contact support@campaignverify.org
  • If you ask to have your PIN sent by email, phone, or postal mail and the information you submit does not match your public filing, Campaign Verify will send the PIN using an alternate method, based on the following priority: Email > Text > Call > Postal Mail.  


I already used my token with a different vendor, can I use it again?
No, Campaign Verify tokens are single-use. If your token was previously used with another vendor, you need to generate a new one. Follow the step-by-step instructions for generating an additional token outlined in this article.

My token expired, what do I do?

Sign into your Campaign Verify account and submit a new verification request. Step-by-step instructions for submitting a new verification request are detailed in this article. Your new token will last until January 31st, 2027. 


Once you have your new token: If your org EIN is the same, share the new token via the 10DLC registration form on your Phone Numbers page to re-register. If your EIN is new, submit a new 10DLC registration.


My token is invalid, what do I do?
If your Campaign Verify token was rejected as invalid, this usually means characters were missing when it was shared with us. Please resend:

1. Log in to Campaign Verify at app.campaignverify.org.

2. Recopy the token, then paste it into https://share.doppler.com/.

3. Share the secure doppler link with 10dlc@scaletowin.com.


Who Doesn’t Use Campaign Verify?

501(c) nonprofits and private companies don’t qualify for Campaign Verify.
