TABLE OF CONTENTS |
Texts sent through our app come from phone numbers designed for fast, high-volume messaging. Your contacts will see these numbers ("sending numbers") when they get your texts.
You can choose to send texts from:
10DLC: 10-digit numbers with a geographically specific (local) area code, like 808, 646, 949, 720, 207, or 425.
Toll-Free: Ten-digit numbers with area codes like 833.
Shortcode: 5-6 digit numbers like 12345.
In other words, when you choose a sending number for a campaign, that’s the number your contacts will see in their text chain with you. The “Phone Numbers” page provides an overview of all the numbers you can currently use to send texts.

Register for phone numbers
New to phone number registration? Catch up here.
Because of rising spam complaints, telephony providers want to verify the identity of senders before granting access to 10DLC, toll-free, or shortcode numbers.
To register your organization for 10DLC and Toll-Free numbers, use the “Phone Numbers” page.
10DLC: Click the blue “Register for 10DLC” button to access the registration form. Learn about the requirements here.
Toll-Free: Click the blue “Register for Toll-Free” button to access the registration form.
Shortcode: Reach out to our team for a demo. Read about registration here.
Please note: 10DLC and Toll-Free registrations from other vendors won’t transfer to Scale to Win. To use 10DLC and Toll-Free numbers with us, you need to fill out our registration form. Also, since we don't have access to Campaign Verify, make sure to share tokens with us using the form.
View your numbers
After a phone number is successfully registered, you'll find it listed in a table based on its type: 10DLC, Toll-Free, or Shortcode.
Use the dropdowns at the top of the page to view your numbers by type, created date, and/or in numerical order.
Add 10DLC numbers
You can have up to 49 numbers at a time on a 10DLC registration. To add more 10DLC numbers for sending texts:
Click the "+ Add 10DLC Numbers" button.
A popup will appear where you can enter the area code(s) and quantity of new numbers you’d like. If you enter multiple area codes, we'll try to get numbers based on your list order. For example, if you enter 646 and 347 and want 2 numbers, we’ll first try to get both in 646. If 646 isn’t available, we’ll get them in 347.
Click “Add”.
When you click “Add,” we’ll order number(s) with the listed area code(s) for you. If a number is available, it will show up on the page.

New numbers will have a “Pending” status for at least 20 minutes. This status can last up to a day while carriers add the number to the registration. The number will be ready to use in your campaigns once it’s no longer “Pending.”
If a number isn’t available or has already been taken, you’ll see a red error banner at the bottom left of the screen. You can try again with the same area code or choose a different one.
If you need a number in that specific area code and keep getting errors, please contact support@scaletowin.com. Some area codes are rare, but for the most part we are able to get that number for you.
Name your numbers

Set a default sending number
When you have more than one active number, you can choose which one is the default for your campaigns. The default number will be used for new campaigns, unless you’re copying a campaign with a different number.
Default numbers are marked with a star. To change the default number, click the empty star next to the number you want to set as default.Image above: Edit the display name for a number by entering a name. Remove a name by leaving the field blank.
Archive numbers
If you no longer want to use a number, you can archive it. Archiving will prevent it from being used in new campaigns. The number will remain active in any campaigns where it was already used.
How to archive a number
To archive a number, click the archive icon in that number’s row.
How to unarchive a number
We can unarchive numbers on your behalf, or completely remove the number from your account. Please contact us at support@scaletowin.com.
