The ROI Send feature optimizes fundraising campaigns by testing various script versions on a segment of your donor list. It then automatically deploys the most effective script, determined by Return on Investment (ROI), to the remainder of your list. This strategy maximizes donations by ensuring the entire campaign utilizes the highest-performing message.
This feature also supports campaigns with a single variant, enabling continuous sending when ROI criteria are satisfied.
Note: This feature requires an ActBlue integration to track ROI statistics.
Using Your ROI Send Feature:
Complete building your campaign and click Start Campaign.
Note: Remember to include a link to your ActBlue donation page in each initial message variant. You can shorten this link with a Scale to Win provided shortlink. A Scale to Win shortlink can be used to shorten this link.
From the Send, or Schedule Send dropdown, select Autosend Based on ROI or Schedule Autosend Based on ROI, depending on your preferred send time.
Enter your ROI test criteria:
Texts to Send: (required) Number of contacts from your list to include in the ROI test.
The number of texts sent is split evenly amongst the number of variants created
The number of texts sent must not exceed the total number of available contacts
Minimum ROI: (required) Set the minimum % a variant needs to reach in order to win.
Minimum Number of Donations: (optional) Set the number of donations required for a variant to qualify as a winner.
Exclude Donations Over: (optional) Set $ amount of donations that should not be included in ROI calculations to avoid throwing off the ROI calculation with large, one-off donations.
Expiration Date: (optional) Set a date and time to end the ROI test. If a variant does not win by that date/time, the test will end.
Autosend Window: (optional) Time window during which the remaining messages can be sent. This is useful to ensure you don’t send past high traffic donation hours, like Friday at 7pm.
Note: If you’re scheduling the send you must select the Send Date and Send Time.
4. Click Begin ROI Test (or Schedule ROI Test)
During the test:
You will see “Waiting for Winner” in the Send Status section
You can view but cannot edit the ROI test criteria by selecting view settings
You can cancel your test by selecting cancel your test
If a variant satisfies the ROI test criteria, all remaining contacts will be sent the winning message. This applies whether there were multiple variants or only a single one.
If multiple variants:
A star will appear next to the winning variant
and an X will appear next to each losing variant
